The laboratory has the modern electron-microscopic and X-ray equipment, a large experience in investigations by different diffraction methods, such as X-ray diffraction topography, TEM, HREM with the resolution of 1.7å and possibility of video image processing by computer, SEM in the temperature range from nitrogen to 2000^oC. The laboratory has the following equipment:

1. Electron transmitting microscopes: JEM-100CX (JEOL); JEM-4000CX (JEOL)
2. Scanning electron microscopes: JSM-25S(JEOL); DSM-960 (OPTON); BS-340 (TESLA)
3. X-ray microanalyses JXA-5 with the system AN-10000(LINK)
4. X-ray topographic spectrometers: D-4C with two spectrometers A-36 (RIGAKU): RU-3HM with spectrometers A-3 (REGAKU) and DTS-1 (NAUCHPRIBOR); URT-1 with multicrystal spectrometer (NAUCHPRIBOR).
5. Special techniques for the preparation of samples including ion polishing (GATAN, DIOMILL)
6. High-temperature (GATAN-628-TA) and low-temperature (GATAN-636) devices to carry out "in situ" investigations directly in the microscope column.
