Equipment-Methodical Facilities of the Laboratory

The laboratory has the modern electron-microscopic and X-ray equipment, a large experience in investigations by different diffraction methods, such as X-ray diffraction topography, TEM, HREM with the resolution of 1.7å and possibility of video image processing by computer, SEM in the temperature range from nitrogen to 2000oC. The laboratory has the following equipment:

  1. Electron transmitting microscopes: JEM-100CX (JEOL); JEM-4000CX (JEOL)
  2. Scanning electron microscopes: JSM-25S(JEOL); DSM-960 (OPTON); BS-340 (TESLA)
  3. X-ray microanalyses JXA-5 with the system AN-10000(LINK)
  4. X-ray topographic spectrometers: D-4C with two spectrometers A-36 (RIGAKU): RU-3HM with spectrometers A-3 (REGAKU) and DTS-1 (NAUCHPRIBOR); URT-1 with multicrystal spectrometer (NAUCHPRIBOR).
  5. Special techniques for the preparation of samples including ion polishing (GATAN, DIOMILL)
  6. High-temperature (GATAN-628-TA) and low-temperature (GATAN-636) devices to carry out "in situ" investigations directly in the microscope column.
